Flex Mount Installation
Please read these instructions thoroughly before installing flex mount.
Flex Mount is a multi-purpose mount for magnetic accessories such as our Hat Caddy and Sapelo Wallet. It can be used almost anywhere due to its industrial-strength adhesive and corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction.
It is crucial to identify a suitable mounting position before installation to both avoid damage to the mounting surface, and maximize the effectiveness of your mount.
Mounting Position
General Guidelines
Flex Mount should be installed on a smooth, unpainted surface. This is both to improve adhesive effectiveness and avoid damage. If applied to a painted surface, Flex Mount's adhesive properties are diminished, and it may damage paint if removed.
Vehicles
Our magnetic products are designed to stand up to high winds while stationary, however on vehicles this limit can be exceeded due to apparent winds from movement. For best performance, select a mounting position which limits direct wind exposure.
Boats and Watercraft
Additional care should be taken to select a mounting position on any watercraft. Even without direct wind exposure, spray or direct contact can dislodge even strong magnetic mounts, such as ours. For best results, place your mount away from direct wind, spray, and high traffic areas such as the sides of a center console where they may be brushed against and become dislodged.
Recommendations:
- Behind the windshield at your boat's helm
- Inside a door or compartment
- On the back side of a cooler or object which blocks wind/spray
